Univar Solutions is a distributor of chemicals and lubricants with long-standing relationships with major suppliers. We offer a wide range of products and services to customers across many different industries.
Over the last few years Univar Solutions has evolved its EMEA organisation into two focused divisions:
· Ingredients + Specialties (I+S) brings deep knowledge, a premier portfolio, and technical expertise to targeted industries in the specialty chemicals and ingredients sector
· Chemical Distribution & Services (CD&S) focuses on lubricants and foundational chemistries, delivering operational excellence and broad-based solutions
This divisional structure reflects the different market dynamics, customer needs and value propositions of these businesses, helping us to sharpen focus and provide specialized expertise to serve our customers and key markets.
The next step of our evolution is to align our structure in parts of Europe to support the future needs of our business and continue working effectively with customers, suppliers, partners and other stakeholders.

What is changing?
With effect from 1st November 2026, we will change our legal entity structure by creating specific legal entities for the CD&S portfolio in each Nordic country in which we do business.
With effect from 1st November 2026, products from our CD&S portfolio will be assigned to country-specific legal entities. This means that CD&S transactions will move from Univar Solutions B.V. to the relevant local Nordic legal entity.
The below table shows the future legal entity structure for both our CD&S and I+S portfolios in the Nordics:

This will mean setting up new vendor records for the CD&S part of the business in each country where you currently purchase CD&S products, while existing I+S arrangements will remain in place.
As a result, CD&S customers need to make the following changes before 1st November 2026 to support continuity of service:
- Set up a new Univar Solutions vendor/supplier record for each country you buy CD&S products from.
- Use the new VAT number and legal entity details for relevant CD&S products
- Ensure your purchasing team understands which account to use
- Ensure your finance team understands that new bank account details will apply and payments may need to be split across more than one account.
What is not changing?
Ingredients + Specialties transactions will not be effected by this change.
All existing relationships with Univar Solutions will continue, and there will be no change to the service you receive, product, sourcing or regulatory standards.
Our aim is to make the transition as seamless as possible so that any changes to the Chemical Distribution & Services part of the portfolio can be managed without unnecessary disruption to day-to-day business.

are you making this change?
We are aligning our legalentity structure with our organisational structure as recently announced.This means parts of our business will operate under a new legal entity, while others will continue as they are.
The organizational evolution aligns Univar Solutions around distinct, customer-focused segments:
- Chemical Distribution & Services: Focused on bringing together a full portfolio of chemistries with a robust global logistics network to provide best-in-class, local service.
- Ingredients + Specialties: Dedicated to serving targeted industries with a premier portfolio of specialty chemicals and ingredients supported by a global network of formulation labs and test kitchens to solve technical challenges and help bring better products to market, faster.
- ChemPoint: Will continue to help suppliers and customers uncover new opportunities for growth through on demand creation and multi-channel digital marketing campaigns for a wide range of chemicals and ingredients.
What does this change mean for us?
You will continue to purchase from Univar Solutions, but your ordering may be split across two accounts for each country that you purchase from across the Nordics if you buy products from both portfolios:
- One account remains unchanged: Ingredients + Specialties from Univar Solutions (I+S)
- One account will require a new vendor/supplier setup and updated details for Chemical Distribution & Services (CD&S) products
Will my Univar Solutions contacts remain the same?
Some customer service contacts may change depending on the products and entity. If so, updated contact details will be provided as part of our communications to our customers.

We operate in multiple countries – does this apply everywhere?
There will be similar changes happening in the UK, France and Belgium that take effect from the 1stof February 2027. If you also buy from these countries, separate communications will follow regarding changes in those regions.
I am both a Univar Solutions customer and a supplier; how do these changes affect me?
If you both buy from and supply Univa rSolutions, we will provide the relevant guidance for each relationship separately, so you know what action, if any, is needed.
Account Management
Will we need to manage two accounts going forward?
If you buy from the Ingredients + Specilties product portfolio, no.
If you buy from the Chemical Distribution & Services portfolio, or both,yes. You will manage:
- Your existing account (unchanged products under our I+S portfolio)
- A new account (products that belong to our CD&S portfolio)
When do we need to set up the new account?
Before 1st November 2026, to avoid any disruption to your orders. We will contact our customers with additional information and guidance as we get closer to this date.
What will I need to set up a new vendor record?
You will need the company name, address, VAT number, contact details and bank account information. We will share all of this in our customer communications. If you have not recieved this, please contact us directly.
What happens if we don’t set up the new account in time?
There is a risk that orders may not be processed correctly and deliveries could be delayed.
Products
Will all products move to the new legal entity?
No. Only Chemical Distribution & Services products will move to a new legal entity. You will receive clear guidance on which products are affected.
How will I know which Univar Solutions division supplies my usual products?
Your account manager will contact you with this information no later than August 2026.
Orders
What happens to orders placed before 1st November, but delivered after 1st November?
Before go-live orders must be placed with Univar Solutions B.V. as per current processes. However, if a delivery takes place after go-live, depending on the type of material, it may be processed under the new entity and VAT number.
Contracts & Payment Terms
I have a written sales agreement with Univar Solutions BV, how is it affected?
Your account manager will liaise with you to address the transfer of the Chemical Distribution & Services portion of the existing written sales agreement to the relevant CD&S entity(ies) in the Nordics pursuant to the terms and conditions of such agreement.
Are there any changes to my payment terms?
For your Ingredients + Specialites portfolio purchases, there is no change.
For your Chemical Distribution & Services portfolio purchases, there is no change other than the contractual relationship will be transferred to the CD&S entity operating in the country where you purchase products.
