Ascorbic Acids

Ascorbic acids from Univar Solutions are particularly suitable for applications within the Food industry. Commonly used as food additives, these acids help to combat oxidation and, as a form of Vitamin C, is often found in many dietary supplements. Vitamin C cures scurvy and increases resistance to infection. Ascorbic acids are also often added to fruit juices, cereals and dried fruit for fortification or to add a citrus flavour. It also acts as a preservative to keep food such as bread, cured meats, jams and jellies from spoiling.
